Este jueves 30 de junio se realizó la primera etapa del convenio de cooperación donde la Municipalidad de La Cruz dispone para los vecinos agricultores, el Programa de Retiro Gratuito de Desechos Plásticos que se acumulan en nuestros campos.
La iniciativa benefició a más de 10 agricultores locales que, a través del Programa de Desarrollo Local, pudieron postular al beneficio que permite limpiar los campos crucinos y evitar la contaminación que producen posibles quemas.
En dicha ocasión se abarcaron parcelas del sector de Pocochay y algunas de Charravata, pero la idea es hacer extensivo el programa para cualquier vecino que necesite deshacerse de plásticos de invernaderos, mangueras de regadíos, bolsas para plantas y envases de químicos para agricultura.
El único requisito para los crucinos es tener acopiado el material desechado cerca a un acceso vehicular para que los encargados puedan hacer el retiro de manera fácil y rápido.
«A mí me quitaron un gran peso de encima. Yo hace tiempo que venía juntando todo este material, pero como me gusta cuidar el medio ambiente no lo quemé nunca. La verdad no tenía idea de cómo me iba a deshacer de todo esto, hasta que me avisaron del programa gratuito. Ahora me quedo tranquilo sabiendo que todo este plástico va a ser reciclado y reutilizado de otra manera» comentó Don Osvaldo Jorquera, agricultor de flores del Sector de Pocochay.
La alcaldesa Maite Larrondo en tanto dijo que «esta es la primera de varias etapas de retiro de material que haremos. La idea es que ningún vecino que tenga la necesidad de botar residuos agrícolas, se quede fuera. Siempre nos hemos preocupado por el Medio Ambiente y creemos que nuestros campos deben estar igual de limpios que nuestras calles. Invitamos a los vecinos agricultores a que se inscriban», concluyó la alcaldesa Maité Larrondo.
